1. Sadhupul
Sadhupul is an adventurous and fun destination. It is ideal location for picnics and to spend time in weekends with family. As it is a village near Chail, Solan & Shimla where a stream flows under a concrete bridge, it is an ideal place for outings. The access by road to Sadhupul is convenient and easy as it is on the way to Chail the famous hill station. This destination offers unlimited excitement. The benches are set up in the middle of the river where one can sit while eating food ordered from the nearby vendors or brought from home. People can play in water here, and can also arrange camp fires in the chilly evenings of early winter months. A good destination for arranging family picnics and camping in summer months. The place being on the bank of a shallow stream is picturesque having old world charm.
2. Tara Devi Temple
Located in the captivating hills of Tarav Parvat, on the western side of Shimla, Tara Devi Temple is said to be 250 years old. It provides breathtaking view of the pine forests, lofty mountains and peaceful countryside of Shimla. Spend sometime here to soothe your senses and rejuvenate your soul. The temple is revered by the locals and receives a huge crowd during festive seasons. On normal days, it is extremely quite and serene. 3. Shiva Falls
If you are looking to embark on a trek to one of the most remote and untouched places to visit in Shimla, then Shiva Waterfalls is the best place to be. The trek route passes through narrow paths and is breathtakingly beautiful as it traverses oak and pine forests and several small streams. The trek to the top of the waterfall lasts for about 2 hours and will expose you to some of the most serene beauties of nature. Try to make it in the afternoon when the sunlight catches droplets of the waterfall.
4. Sankat Mochan Temple
Sankat Mochan temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Shimla, which is located amid the lush green and tranquil locals of Himachal Pradesh. Tourists visit this temple to pay obeisance to the deities of Lord Rama and other notable gods of the Hindu pantheon. The temple, which was established in the year 1950, was the result of an initiative taken by the noted religious figure-Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj, who was amazed by the beauty of the place. He stayed in the deep dark woods for ten days and decided to establish a Hindu temple on the location. This majestic temple houses the deities of Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Hanuman.
5. Mohan Shakti Heritage Park
Mohan Shakti Heritage Park is a heritage park aimed at studying Vedic Sciences and educate the younger generation about the findings of the Vedas and ancient Indian culture. The park is believed to be the largest Heritage Park in Himachal Pradesh. Tourists can enjoy strolling the grasslands, glimpse the archaeological sites and splendours of the peaks, clouds and sunshine.
